I am opening a concession stand business and am trying to find out what treats at fairs and carnivals that people are willing to line up for. I'm curious what food people think of when they think back to precious childhood memories at fairs circuses and carnivals. I am leaning toward funnel cakes and shave ice? Ant input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Shaved ice is a great idea! When I was little I would go for cotton candy myself.
However now I wouldn't dream of it.
I would like to suggest you sell both healthly (or semi-healthy) stuff and the unhealthy stuff.
More and more people these days are choosing healthly food over unhealthy stuff if it is avaliable.
Something healthy might be banana bread or muffins, and juice as another option.
Good luck with your business.

I just got back from the Scottish Highland games today in Richmond. Of course Haggis, lamb and pasties were especially on the list, but also some usuals. Deep fried chicken wings, kettle corn, pig cracklins, ice cream, etc. Maybe it would be worth doing a google search on "cart" or other franchises and just getting ideas on what is "hot". In case anyone is interested :) I hade the fish and chips. Good Luck !!

I tend to agree with Liketobake. You should offer both healthy and traditional fare at your cart. My personal feeling is that hot-dogs and hamburgers are still popular with many people. I would suggest maybe offering veggie dogs and burgers, as well as the regular hot-dogs and traditional burgers. It is really up to you as to what type of fare you would like to offer. It might be a good idea to check out what else is being offered in the location you are planning to frequent. That could make a difference as to how your sales would go. Good luck!

ANYTHING FRIED! I love Fried! If I could eat *fried* 20x a day, I WOULD! You should sell buffalo wings & coleslaw, as chickun wings are so cheap!
