What is comfort food to you?
I have a nasty cold right now, so I have been forced into bed rest by my own body. I am not one who likes to sit or lay around so this has not been fun.
So far diet wise I have been going for vitamin rich foods, as opposed to comfort foods. I had aprox 12 sevrings of fruit and vegtables yesterday, and I do feel a little bit better today.
For comfort I have been drinking tea. My mom also made so pineapple carrot muffins this morning, and they were quite the comfort.
I know chicken noodle soup is a very good comfort food, but there is very little nutrition in it...
If anyone has any good comfort food recipes please post them.
Thanks
:)

Sorry to hear that you are under the weather ! :(
Fruits, vegetables Vitamin C suff are always great. Apples and cranberries I especially love.
I also try for foods that bolster my immune sytem. Oatmeal, bananas, fish, chicken, turkey They help maintain the health of organs that make infection-fighting white blood cells.

A week after my cold is finally 98% gone, I go back to nursing practice at the hospital, and I get what appears to be Norwalk. It is almost gone now (thankfully it is short lived although a terrible experince).
I have been on a diet consisting of white bread, water, gingeraile, jello, animal cookies (baby cookies), and today I added hard cheese to my white bread.
I also had 1/4 of a bowel of chicken noodle soup for dinner tonight. So far so good.

I like to make my own chicken noodle soup. Home made broth and noodles
with fresh carrots, celery, onion and garlic. It is very comforting. And also take comfort in Tea, usually lemon zinger or ginger spice. I am a big soup fan. so it would be a pasta E fagioli, beef vegetable and chicken noodle for me.

I like a nice hot cup of chowder, some corn muffins, and some amaretto on the rocks. I also like a nice big cheeseburger with bacon and cheddar cheese on it, and don't forget the BBQ sauce. While you're at it, throw in some seasoned fries and a milkshake.

my comfort drink is chai latte @ starbucks it's probably made from an evil concentrate in a plastic jug but they taste so spicy & yummy. comfort food always involves melted cheese, crusty bread, sourdough or mysterious dark rye, creamy soups, bacon or potato related stuff. i wish they had deep fried glasgow/uk type fish n chip shop food in california. i like sausages & meat pies & mystery fried stuff.

I love chai lattes too. Starbucks is always good. Serious Coffee is pretty good too, as well as some other non chain places.

Hello,
Veg soups, fruit juices, wholemeal soup, and leafy vegs will do the job.
