Did you know that Egyptians in antiquity used to worship the onion because they thought it was a symbol of eternal life? They even put onions in the pyramids hoping that they will bring the pharaons back to life. Obviously, they didn't. Maybe they weren't strong enough :)

Wow, that's an interesting thing! I also liked the origin of the word onion (large pearl). But the best one of the most surprising things about onions is still that they are really healthy food.
I always thought they are just something you put into the food for flavors sake, until I read on the net that they prevent cancer, lower cholesterol and reduce blood clods, thus lowering your risk of strokes and heart attacks. They even help alleviating the symptoms of chronic bronchitis and asthma. Here's the link, if someone wants to check it: http://www.askmen.com/sports/foodcourt/54_eating_well.html
After I read that, I thought: I'm really blessed that I love onions and they don't give me trouble. Besides the tears, but I found a few great tips which I'm trying out at the moment.
Greetings to all

Did you know that cromnyomancy is the use of onions and onion sprouts to predict the future. I had onions earlier today and they told me that I would be going to bed after this post.
