The bread gods were unkind today. Bad day in the kitchen, 6 blueberry and 6 cranberry/orange skones....toast. One pan of sugar pastries, toast. Worst of all, a rack of Chicago bread, 28 loaves, over proofed, they looked like rounds instead of loaves. And to add insult to injury, they blew while cooking, which normally indicated under proofing......Mama said there would be days like this...... I blamed it on the mixer......
