I’m a huge food lover and am always looking for my next new fine dining experience. However recently I was informed about how foie gras is produced. I was absolutely shocked and disgusted! Can you believe that ducks and geese have pipes shoved down their throats which force feed exuberant amounts of fatty food? I even read that they often incur ruptured stomachs and punctured throats from this as well as become so sick they can’t even stand up. Apparently this is what makes their livers become so enlarged and produces the ‘best’ foie gras. I even found this link from PETA which shows video from foie gras farms and also has a section at the bottom where you can send a letter to some of the top restaurants still serving foie gras: http://action.petaasiapacific.com/ea-campaign/clientcampaign.do?ea.client.id=110&ea.campaign.id=2535&ea.param.extras=ea_source_code:papadvmfgproe~c=pap mfgpro I know I certainly won’t be dining anywhere I see selling foie gras in the future!

Your post has been turned in to the moderators for removal. This is a food website, an not a platform for PETA activists.

I actually agree with the OP overall. I don't think I would feel comfortable eating foie fras, but it's more important to remember that PETA is evil.
Step away from the Kool-Aid, Mattnick.
