It's delicious, it's a drink of good cheers and fine spirits, it's got much history to it.

How do you use it in cooking, or do you use it in cooking at all?
(Not wine or champagne..just beer)

I put some in my spaghetti sauce. Mmm.
But..by no means am I like a professional chef or anything. It was really an accidental thing. I was just standing there, drinking a beer and thought "Hm..I wonder what this will do.." and poured it in there.

I like to braise my country ribs in Beer, onion, galric, and seasonings along with jalapenos. Turkey chili with beer instead of water or broths.

I use it to catch snails in my garden, but I guess that's an age thing.

Beer-soaked brats and beer can chicken are two real crowd-pleasers that I like to make. For both, I enjoy using dark beers like Smithwick's or Guinness.

Oh wow! I usually use for my brats a german beer such as Warsteiner or Spatan. for the chicken I usually use just a cheap beer such as a miller, or miller light.

I might try that this summer!

I like Smithwick's beer, so I'll try it with that. Guiness is way too bitter. I'll saute and brown some onions and green pepper strips to go with it. :)

Here's how I do it: Make sure to get uncooked brats, split them open and lay them out in a container, split-side up, then pour in enough beer to cover them completely. Cover and let them soak in the fridge for at least a couple hours. When the grill is ready, transfer them directly onto the grill with tongs, making sure to leave a little of the beer pooled inside the brats. Close the lid and let 'em roast! This way, the beer flavor really permeates the entire brat instead of just the skin. Top with some sauteed onions and you won't want to stop eating them.
