problem with tongs

Hello,
I am an industrial design student and I have to redesign a hand held object for my assignment. I have chosen to redesign the tong. I was wondering if there was anyone out there who had any issues with them and what they are. My market group are people who have arthritis and/or carpal tunnel. This would greatly help with my research.

I have not had any problems with tongs. Tongs are one of my favourite kitchen tools.

No problems with tongs. What I would like to see is a long handled ice cream dipper. We like to keep one in our mashed potatoes on the buffet...but the thing you squeeze always gets messy.
