I agree about Discuss Cooking.com. I was on that site for a couple of years and just recently left. Too much criticism, far too much censorship form the moderators and that's not what I'm looking for. I like it here too.

I don't think they get that a forum is a way of debating and passing opinions and information back and forth. They won't let the posters do that. They just shut down a thread a couple of days ago I hear, because it got a little off topic. Who cares? People were enjoying it. They lost two more posters because of it. I'm glad I left.

ROFLMAO. I was banned from DC TWICE! I know some of you from there, and I'm glad you are finding good homes to discuss all things food. There were a bunch of us that got the boot earlier this year, and most have settled over at www.netcookingtalk.com (http://www.netcookingtalk.com) . It's a very open forum with many people you will recognize from DC.

BTW, I was JoeV on DC, and I'm the same on NCT (http://www.netcookingtalk.com).

I travel around to different forums like this one that could use some activity, and I learn a lot in the process. Most forums are good, but some of them are just too over-moderated, like DC. They come off as high-brow, when really they are no different than the rest of us.

No need for a PM, as everyone could care less for DG, Kitchenelf and the rest of the Gestapo Brigade. When one of them stops liking you, they all gang up on you and just wait for you to cross their imaginary line so they can bust you or send threatening PM's . Also, the Mods on DC all read personal PM's (which they are not supposed to do), which is why so many were banned, and did not know why. Now, they will never admit that they banned anyone, because it would look like they can't do their jobs. Everyone who was banned is still on the membership roster, but nobody has "banned" after their name like you find on other sites when someone is banned. Slick little game they play so it looks like the perfect little Happy Valley that they want it to be like. It's all smoke & mirrors. If you look at any of my posts that had pictures, which was most of the posts, you will find the picture links have all been removed. When they banned me for no good reason (It says at login that I have been banned. Reason: None When allowed back: Never), I started modifying all of my pictures to include a line that said "Come visit me at www.netcookingtalk.com" , and that's when they cut the photos. My parchment paper tutorial for no-knead bread is still there, sans the pictures. What good is that?

DC has a few plants on NCT, because we have set them up and they carry information right back to DG and the gang. Such shallow people with such low values. They all deserve themselves. But, we don't care because we are all having fun and learning each and every day. Stop by and view some of the threads. We have tons of recipes and even some plans on how to build smokers. Lots of good stuff going on that DC would never tolerate.

I totally agree with ALL of you about the Happy Valley! I was a member there as well.

I hear ya, Dough Boy & Grader999!! You're so right!! Like you said, they TRULY ARE the Gestapo Brigade. The mods & admins over there aren't friendly at all!!! They wait for you to do something and then they'll slit your throat! They are all cut from the same cloth! A haven for scores of rats and hordes of Internet Schoolyard Bullies!!

Like you said, I could give a crap less what they do over there. All of the so-called mods and admins there act like snobbiish snotty-nosed spoiled and selfish little boys & girls! Even if you talk harsh about someone in you own family, they'll dennounce you if someone that THEY know is the same!

You can't even talk about politics there or anything related to it, because if you do, the thread or post that you talked about it in will be friggen closed or erased, and you get sent a very nasty and threatening pm from the asinine mods & admins there!!

They got a system in place there that I swear sends out a radar sensor to the lousy mods and admins that lets them know when someone tries to write such materials as politics, the 09-11 terror attacks, or the financial crisis. And as soon as you try to submit it, the lousy admin there starts yelling and screaming at you there almost immediately!! And your post is friggen deleted before it's even posted!!

KitchenScum at DC, the lowlife puke piece of scum that he or she is, is the one who banned me after having secretly spied on me there in one of my pm's. It was all part of a setup!! They've made me feel very uncomfortable there - starting up crap that made me not want to go back there! I've been a loyal and faithfully active member there, and then, all of a friggen sudden, at first, my posts were delayed from being posted pending the approval of a moderator! Got that one fixed, and no sooner had it gotten fixed, along comes this bullcrap and frivelous damn technicallity that I've been suddenly & abruptly friggen stopped from editing my own posts!! And when I sent a pm to the lousy admin, asking about it, she told me that it's not so, yet supposedly & suddenly, friggen no one knows who might have done it - yet they refuse to man up about it!! It's all part of a sick & slick little friggen game they're playing!!

And here's probably the reason why;

I began a thread there about a little boy, Daylon Trotman, now 8 years old (I also posted his story here in the OT section), who likes to get up and dance in the aisles at the Boston Celtics home games, and because I talked about him a lot and added more stuff about him to my post, the thread got abruptly friggen closed by one of the nasty admins!! There was absolutely no talk whatsoever, about him in a sexual manner at all, yet and still, the jerk closed it to stop me from posting in it!!

Now, when or if I mention children there, especially boys, they think in their small pea-brain minds that I might be a pedophile or a child molester or even a blasted creep!!! I know that they are. What small-minded narrow-thinking asinine morons they are to even think that?!! I LOVE kids and I'd never harm them in any way! I could tell that they think for some ungodly reason that I might be a monster, but I'm NOT!!!!!!

I mentioned actor Kyle Massey being in a commercial and that he's a teenager, and they started flying out some really outlandish crap, saying that my knowlege of child actors was friggen creepy!!!!!! I grew up watching Gary Coleman, Todd Bridges and other when they had their own TV shows!! That forum is truly living in the dinosaur age!!!!! I don't like their way of thinking!! It sickens me to the core!!!!!

I LOVE children very much, and they make ME feel like a kid again myself!! So why would I even THINK about hurting them at all?!! I'm very soft-hearted when it comes to children, and in fact, they look at me and think of me as a big teddy bear, but I'm not a pedophile in any way!!! That, right there alone, made me feel so atrociously unwelcomed there!!! And I don't go where I'm not or don't feel welcome!! I've been away from there for a little over 3 years now, and because of the fact that they suddenly began treating me very differently than they did before, I'm not going back there at all ever again!!

I once posted as my avatar, a pic of Tiffany Eunick - the little girl who was accidentally killed by Lionel Tate. It seems that it wasn't a problem back then, then, almost a year later, it was a goddman problem!!! They started trashing me because of it!! Saying that I had no business posting the pic of a dead child as my avatar!! I told them point blank that they were so full of crap!!

Also, a troublemaking member there, Ibcheft, is also an Internet Schoolyard Bully! Yes, I said it, Ibcheft, you're an Internet Schoolyard Bully!. Every time that I posted something there, that jerk would make nasty smirky comments on it and poke his nose all up in my business!!!! Well, let him come sign up over here and start that crap, and I'll put a stop to it right away, immediately!! I'LL have the last word! I'll put him right in his place and tell him point blank that I'm not about to put up with his bullcrap again, or he'll be disiplined happily by me.

Yet another one, SpicePlace.com, is also a Happy Valley and is very controversial and troublemaking! One of the mods there had started crap about my screen name, Big Daddy's Kitchen - the name Aaron McCargo Jr. had adopted for his pilot show just before he won and became the Next Food Netwoork Star. This troublemaking mod had gotten other members there to side with her and go against me. Next thing I know, when I went back there to logon, I found out that I was so abruptly friggen banned for no reason at all - the same thing that you saw when you went back to DC, Dough Boy!

When cooking forums start to act like they don't want you there any more and then turn into a Happy Valley, that is a definite sign right there, that they'll soon want to ban you, and almost immediately, they certainly will!! When I start to get that vibe, it is then time to get out, and I don't go back there and will stay away for good. It's a pure sign that makes you not feel welcome there any more! Between those forums mentioned, they are all cut from the same cloth!!! Same can, different label, same boat, different lake!! And while you're there, they literally LOOK for excuses to want to ban you!!

When I was at FNF.com, I posted there just about every day. I would tend to imagine that when you reach a high number of posts, they start to act crappy toward you, working their way to get you banned. DC, SP & FNF. I hate all three of those forums!!! Good luck to them and the Red Sox. :mad:

But I like it here, and this is the main cooking forum where I'll be. All of those Happy Vallys where I was a member can go crawl under a rock sowewhere and stay there! :)

As for their reputation supposedly being tarnished by former members there, I'd definitely say that it already is. Word gets around like the wildfires over in California to stay away from that forum.

Even if NCT WAS formed by disgruntled former members of DC, it proves and drives home a point.

That DC is very controversial and very biased with their bullcrap rules and Gestapo-Brigade-style of runnig things in that forum. Everyone who has ever been there, didn't like it and left, has everything negative or bad to say about it, they are right, and like McDonald's, I'M LOVIN' IT!!!

I just joined another cooking forum, CookingLight.com, over the weekend and began posting.

And just because I posted replies in several of the old threads, they're already accusing me of post-count gouging , and saying or suspecting that I might be a blasted spammer!!! They are also truly the Gestapo Brigade!! Just like at DiscussCooking.com & SpicePlace.com!!!!! Found out that they turned very hostile toward me and are very biased and controversial!!!!! Another Happy Valley!!! :mad:

Then there's this one particular individual who keeps on arguing with me in a thread about United Airlines' carry-on policy and won't stop!!!!!!!!!! I spoke the truth about the airline, had absolutely nothing against this individual, yet I was speaking my mind and because of THAT, this individual is hopping all over me like an outraged mad little boy!!! A mad mastiff pitbull!! :mad:

They started making fun of my posts and words & thought that it was so hilarious and hysterical!! Even the asinine mods & admins joined in on the ridiculous fun-poking!!!!! A classic example of the crap that I went through at other forums where I was personally attacked and ridiculed by the likes of those carniverous pieces of garbage!!!!! :mad:
