Hi everyone.

Well once again i've tried to make a savoury pie and a savoury quiche...without success,my fillings are fine,however, my pastry (shortcrust) always seems to come out soft and doughy rather than brown and crispy.I just don't know what i'm doing wrong.Any tips or advice would be very much appreciated.Thanks.

For making any kind of Pie I always use Puff pastry to make the crust because it seems to me very convenient. I buy puff pastry from my nearest baking store and use it to make pie and patties. To make pie, I first make base for which I cover the sides and base of the baking dish with puff pastry dough and then put in oven for 2 minutes then pour the stuffing onto the base and then cover it again using dough and coat with egg so that after baking it become crispy and brown in color.
