I just came back from the grocery store loaded with asparagus. At $1.00 a bunch I went a little crazy. Yes, asparagus is one of my favorites. As a child my mother would go to the backyard, snap off some asparagus and saute up my afternoon snack. To me it was better than cookies. Yes, I am wierd.

Here is a recipe for Asparagus Bake

2 1/2 pounds fresh asparagus
1 small jar chopped pimientos
1/2 cup milk
1 3 ounce package of cream cheese
1/4 cup crumbled blue cheese
1 Tablespoon of melted butter
3 Tablespoons bread crumbs

Blanch asparagus in boiling water until almost tender. Drain and place in greased shallow baking dish. Sprinkle pimientos over asparagus. In a small saucepan, heat milk and cheeses, stirring until smooth. Pour over asparagus. Combine butter and bread crumbs. Sprinkle over asparagus. Bake at 325F for 30 minutes or until crumbs are brown.
