Hi evereyone, I'm new here and am trying to broaden my cooking skills. One thing i tend to stay away from is prawns. I love prawns but after being ill once after eating a slightly warm prawn cocktail from a restaraunt I have kept clear of cooking them.

Now I have bought some Tom Yum paste/sauce in an attempt to recreate my favourite spicy soup. I don't know what prawns to buy. Prawns in a supermarket come raw and pre-cooked, chilled and frozen.

I would like to use the pre-cooked and then chilled prawns. Can I just boil them with the soup?

Would it be better with raw prawns and stir fry them a bit first?

I haven't had much experience with prawns, but raw are genereally better for starters with dip. Cooked prawns taste pretty amzing in stir-fry, just fry them until light brown and then add sauce and noodles. I prefer to buy frozen prawns. Prawns in a tin is not good.
