How about a start-Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner? Beginner? Meat? Vegetarian?

I wouldn't recommend "experimenting" with your girlfriend. If you want to eat at home, I would suggest buying a Take-Out Chinese or similar meal that you can take out of the box and put on a nice plate. You concentrate on the atmosphere.

I agree with mcnerd but if you really want to cook, cook something easy like 'all in one pot casserole ' or 'mix frozen veg and ready bought chicken, sea food stir fry'.

You can try 'classic chicken paprika', 'pork chops & apples', or 'salmon with brown sugar glaze'

If you are making breakfast for her, try something easy like bacon and eggs, or yogurt and fruit.
For lunch and dinner there are lots of possiblities. If you like pizza buy a premade crust and just add the sauce and topings.

How about a baked pasta dish? Boil and drain pasta, add your favorite sauce (store bought or your own), cheese, and fresh herbs (if desired). Put into casserole, add extra cheese on top and bake until bubbly. Serve with a crisp lettuce salad (don't hesitate to add chopped apple or orange sections or strawberries) with a nice dressing. Garlic bread would be a nice additon. Go to your local bakery and pick out your girlfriend's favorite type of dessert. Let us know how your meal turns out!

Polish Sausage and Cabbage
Ingredients
˝ pound smoked sausage, Polish sausage or Polska Keilbasa sausage, cut into 1 inch pieces
˝ small head cabbage, cut into 4 wedges
4 small red potatoes, unpeeled, cup into quarters (you can also use russets just peel them)
1 medium onion, thinly sliced
4 8 ounces tomato sauce
˝ cup Worcestershire sauce
2 large garlic cloves, minced
2 teaspoons chili sauce, or Sriracha (Asian) hot chili sauce (but cut the amount to about 1 teaspoon and then taste before you add more.) If you don’t want it spicy omit the hot sauce.
˝ teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
Salt and pepper to taste
Directions
1. Heat grill to medium heat. Or heat the oven to 400 degrees. Cut four 18 X 12 inch pieces of heavy duty foil. Divide sausage, cabbage and potatoes evenly onto foil. Divide sausage, cabbage, onions and potatoes evenly onion foil.
2. In a 4 cup measuring cup, combine tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, chili sauce, and pepper; mix well. Spoon evenly over sausage and vegetables. Wrap each packet securely with double fold seals, allowing room for heat expansion.
3. When ready to grill, place packets on grill over medium heat. Cook 30 to 40 minutes or until cabbage and potatoes are tender. Open packets carefully to allow hot steam to escape.

Alfredo is simple to make.. I don't care for the taste of jarred Alfredo.
One quart of heavy whipping cream
8 oz of cream cheese
1/2 stick of butter (1/4 cup)
salt to taste
Bring cream, cream cheese and butter to a boil in large pot. Whisk ( If you don't have a whisk buy one! every kitchen needs a good whisk.) until cream cheese is completely melted and mixture is beginning to thicken. add
8 oz Parmesan cheese
remove from heat and continue to whisk until cheese is melted.
Idea's to use with sauce:
Fettuccine, Penn, linguine, or cheese ravioli noodles.
Grill some chicken breasts, Tiger shrimp, or rib eye steak.
Sauté some fresh baby spinach or portabella mushrooms.
What ever you plan on making do a trial run before you subject you defenseless Gf to your creation. If and when you decide to cook and serve her ( the food ) make sure you have plan B ready. ( delivery ) Have fun!
