My husband bought that book for me about 4 years ago and I love it. It has the most fantastic recipes. I am really into Thai food so this is one of my best cookbooks. I am doing a Thai soup and entree for my blog next week. Watch for it.

Also look for any book by Charmaine Solomon. She has a book called 'Charmaine Solomon's Thai Cookbook', and it's amazing, I've been using it for years, Thai is my favorite food on the planet.

I'm afraid that I've been spoiled for Thai food since my visit to Thailand. The only thing I've had in the US or England was in Las Vegas at the marvelous Lotus of Siam. And I certainly can't cook it properly!
As far as vegetarian, a great many Thai dishes are vegetarian - but they contain certain ingrediants that strict vegetarians may object to. Fish sauce and shrimp paste are common (neither is as bad as they sound - salt substitutes, primarily), as are chicken broth and eggs. There are lots of wonderful Thai dishes with fish and shrimp.

Pad Thai is delicious. If you can find a place that doesn't skimp on the flavor. Would give you a recipe, but I never made it before.

LOL!! If made with good seasoning, the flavors will burst in your mouth with a peanut flavor to finish it off. Hope you are not allergic to peanuts because you won't be able to eat it haha. If you live near a Thai restaurant, see if they have it and give it a try. The Thai place I get it from serves the Pad Thai with rice, side salad, an egg roll, two cream cheese wontons, and soup for $7.50. This is their lunch special. Maybe you can find a lunch special for it in your area.
