I made a xmas cake a few weeks ago, which one of my kids turned the oven of, couldnt belive it whjen it finally turned out ok though... but.. instead of feeding it brandy for a few weeks, i thought i had to do it every day, yet still the cake seems ok, and... last night i put some marzipan on my cale and made up the icening, but... it was a bit runny, so i managed to clag it on ok, but didnt look to good around the side, so i put lots of silver and gold balls around it and it dosnt look so bad now, but i have some icening left over and its in the fridge, just wondering if anyone has any ideas for left over icening, ive another plain fruit cake in the cuboard, which i could put on a plate and cover with the icening, but not sure what to do, will it be ok and last till xmas if i take it out of the packet to decorate and stick it on a plate? will it still be ok to eat at xmas time ?

Probably not.

Most things taste best when they're fresh.
