I'd say they're just the imperfections of the meat.

As the meat gets older it gets darker in colour. This is the perfect time to cook it.

Some butchers use a salr or a chemical to keep the meat looking bright red. I'd be more afraid of these meats than the ones you've posted.

It's possible for meat to turn gray in spots when light hits it, but be sure of the date of purchase. Meat will turn color if it's spoiled too so smell it. There is no mistaking the smell of spoiled meat. However the image you're showing looks fine.

Hi:

I looked at the image. The meat is fine but you need to us use it quickly. The dark brown spots you see are actually the process of the iron in the blood of the meat going rusty. You may realize that when iron goes rusty, it turns brown. Nothing serious but just telling you a its about time you cooked it.

monamona, you're right there. and as long as it isn't smelling yet and trust me you will know when you smell it weather it is good or not. meats will turn colors like that because of the air hitting them, it will turn them dark. but usually doesn't mean it's bad, Yet. but like monamona said use it quickly (or freeze it quickly).
