Hi, I a new member. Hope someone can help with this question!
I have a jar of friendship cake starter that has been stored in my freezer for several years. I took it out recently and began to prepare the recipe. I noticed that it had a slightly stronger "fermented" odor than I remembered. I have already added some ingredients and it looks fine. Should the starter still be ok?
